Kids in Quarentine

Its been a weird time to be alive. Nobody knows who to trust.. Everyone is mad something.. This shady virus is shaking up the entire globe. How do we fix this? What the f**k do we do!?

We adults can barely believe what is being thrown at us right now. Imagine how the kids feel. . They lost their normal, non-masked, “in-person” social interactions. The news is going on about death counts, riots, & race wars.. they don’t have a clue what could possibly cause such chaos.

The kids are being deprived traditions they have waited their whole lives for like riding the school bus for the first time, graduation ceremonies, proms, house parties(!), school, and sports.

I personally have waited years for my twins to be able to go to school so I can work and keep some of my paycheck! Well checkmate Rona, you got me! Lol

Seriously though, if you notice that your child is struggling, be supportive and stay calm. It may manifest itself in behavior changes like acting out, isolating, depression, or addictions. How you react to your child’s expression is going to influence how they relate to it in the future. Its important that they understand we are all going through this together and its ok to feel frustrated but to find a healthier way to release the frustration.

Encourage learning something new, Setting new goals and being productive.. afterall they say “idle hands are the devils playground”.

Stay involved with their interests to show your support. Interact and join them to help build and keep the bond between you. Make sure your child feels the love you know you have for them.

What’s more is to let them be there for you. Be honest about your feelings. They want to know you. Do things together! Even simple things, like cooking dinner or folding laundry.. Don’t let this pandemic steal any light from your home. Adapt, Appreciate your health, & love eachother. It will get better!!

xO stay well y’all!
