Wine Mom vs Weed Mom

Pick your poison! Odds are if your a mom, you use(d) something to calm your overwhelmed nerves. Alcohol has always been the answer for many. “I need wine” is just commonplace in a mom’s everyday context. Now that weed is becoming medicinally and socially acceptable, more moms are opting for the green scene. However, of course there is still judgment toward both from those that choose to remain completely sober through this life.

Wine Mom:

I think we can agree that different types of booze reap different types of results. Wine gives you that bubbly, quick buzz. Beer gives you that care free, full belly buzz. Vodka can provide a steady buzz and harder things like tequila and whiskey can make for a more mellow, emotional buzz. All of these are fine in moderation but there is a fine line between just enough and way too much. If used just right, it is a nice way to settle down and loosen up for the evening. Being a mom can be a roller coaster ride of emotions and one shouldn’t feel guilty about needing a mental break. My advice for this type of mom is to stick to the drink that you know works well with your body, find a brand that won’t cause a hangover and know your limits!! Stay in control of yourself! When you get into the swing of drinking and can feel a buzz but your girlfriends are there and you don’t wanna stop, be sure to switch to a non alcoholic beverage in between to maintain control. Alcohol isn’t a bad way to let loose but it sure needs to be used with care for a hard day not to become harder.

Weed Mom:

Like alcohol, weed also comes in different forms of a buzz. Smoking or taking sativa will give a more focused, energetic effect while indica will cause a mellow, tired buzz. There are also hybrids available that can combine the effects for a more personalized experience. It can be a huge help to a mom to use weed for mental health. However, one of the things that can happen with weed, is paranoia. Paranoia can cause panic attacks and has even sent people to the hospital because they firmly believe they are having a heart attack. If this happens, taking a hot shower or bath can help. On the flip side, some who have panic attacks from motherhood or other stresses can micro dose and it will all but immediately bring it down to normal level, like magic. Weed hasn’t been socially acceptable for mothers for very long. Now that it is, it has seriously turned some heads to better understand the effects. Its important that a mom knows her limits when using weed. While the impact usually won’t be as severe as overusing alcohol, it can cause irritability.

Overall, the right answer to calming your nerves depends on the individual. Many believe that sober is best for them, but don’t let them put a mom down for needing alittle extra push to loosen up. Regardless of what works for you, limiting yourself to stay in control is the most important factor of catching a buzz to relax. Just do you and screw the haters who judge you for it.
