The Season’s of Life

We all go through life differently. But no matter which path you take, things seem to happen in patterns.

Eventually, your personal cycle repeats itself a few times and you start to realize that you’ve circled back to a familiar season of your life for another perspective.

For Americans, life has somewhat of an order of growth to be expected from a person.

Your born.. you crawl.. you run.. you go to school.. you kiss a crush.. you catch a buzz.. you get heartbroken.. you finish school.. fall in love.. get married.. have kids.. go to work.. eat at cracker barrel.. get old.. drink whiskey.. love old dogs and grandkids.. you retire.. and you die.

Right?

Right!

It’s funny really when you start to recognize it. Think of your most recent season of life.. mine is that I’ve just gotten myself to a point of working full time with 3 kids at home. I’m cooking so much that I feel reminiscent from my younger days, well before I was a Mom. My last familiar season was crazy. I drank too much, stressed too much, and cried too much. But I have always physically worked harder that most females I knew. And I held pride in that. Well, being back in a professional kitchen (after working from home with the kids 2015-2020) I have adopted a new perspective. A new respect for people in general.. The projections that I took personal then, became so transparent in my new season. Life is less stressful for it. This may not seem big to you.. but I once had a short, short fuse and I’ve learned to be better.

I set my intentions years ago to just be better, in all the ways I could. I owned my weaknesses (on national TV😬). All I want is to learn the realistic parts of life.. Social, biological, faith, love, pain, science etc. Ignorance is bliss but understanding is knowledge. The seasons of life will teach you everything you need to know as you grow. Think alittle deeper about what keeps happening in your life. Its trying to teach you something.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that your going to go through seasons, or phases if you will. Its up to you to dig into what the lessons are when hurricane season is upon you. The more you learn from your mistakes, the easier your future will be.

Your strengths will be celebrated!! But your weaknesses.. those will remain challenges to overcome. Recognizing a weakness for what it is, and accepting that you could do better – is everything.

You aren’t defined by just one part of who you are.

Don’t let yourself get carried away in just one of the seasons of your life. Adapt. Grow. Pay it forward. Be kind. Be happy. Calm down.
