Generational Gap

It’s pretty clear that the world we live in is not the world that most of us adults grew up in.  Things weren’t oh-so easily obtainable without a whole lot of hard work back in the day.  You couldn’t just whip out google on your phone and fake it till you make it back then.

There was actually effort that had to be made, studying from books that were borrowed to gain knowledge.  The time put in is what gave it such value.  Many years have gone by where the internet has eased this process almost insultingly.  Nobody said that the future would be fair. . But the possibilities now are endless.

There is a clear generational gap regarding technology. The older generation fear to trust anything tech-new. Sensitive info is way too exposed and once something is on the internet it will be shared forever.

The younger generation gives 0 f**KS about that sh*÷. Link every card and bank account to have the easiest access to everything they need at their fingertips. Sharing streams of updated photos, jobs and locations.

I’ve got to say, both mindsets sound incomplete to me. The balance of safety and convenience can really make for a satisfying life. We were all brought up in evolving situations. So you can’t fault the young or the old generations for their point of view.

Whats most important is being able to learn from eachother. Instead of seeing it just your way, consider a different perspective. I can guarantee that generational relation would be beneficial for everyone. Learning things from the older generation is how to retain old world traditions. Basic human survival with basic essentials. The future is so exhilarating that it’s hard for the young generation to even think about the hard work of the past.

I can’t say I blame them, the virtual age certainly changed priorities. Convenience for the win. The younger generation needs to share these insights. The pace of technology is lightspeed.

Help eachother thrive in the best of both worlds. Be open-minded enough to be confused but try to learn. And be humble enough to work until you hurt because good things take time to complete.
