Choose Kindness

Sometimes, people suck.

They will say things so unnecessarily mean that you wonder why you bother to even try with them. If you choose to be kind to these types of people, you must have some wisdom under your belt.

How you choose to respond says more about you than anything that comes out of their mouth. Responding back with anger will only provoke the instigator and potentially hurt you more, because real meanies have to have the last word.

Realize that there is trauma fueling this negativity. There are a lot reasons people avoid admitting their pain. Until they feel safe enough to choose to heal, they will keep projecting their pain into their experiences.

You don’t always know exactly what is going on in the world of anyone, not even those closest to you. It hurts to be treated like that and you shouldn’t have to deal with it. But sometimes you need to take it as an opportunity to practice granting grace and have patience.

Planting seeds of kindness is the best way to improve or remove toxic relationships. You cant change people, they need to decide to change themselves. So give them hope & give them kindness, as a reminder that its not all bad.

It sucks to suck. Odds are, they know they suck. Lead the horse to water until it finally drinks it, if you can tolerate it.. Or let the horse find a new target to pursue and regain your own peace.

Regardless, choose kindness.
